Glossy Vertical Menu

Author: Dynamic Drive

This is a CSS vertical menu that uses a thin, repeating background image that changes when the mouse moves over a link. The image is glossy looking with an indent at the bottom to create a nice separation between links.

I tried removing the <ul> </ul> tags but now all that shows is the links but no menu image.
I want this to be positioned in the left column and on the three column float float float layout.

I have so much to learn. I was just getting started trying to use kompozer and made a couple of websites on cd for my kids now I find out about css.
My head hurts.

I think I got it right after I posted. I removed the ul tags, replaced them with the span tags, then put it between the div tags of the left column in the source.

Cool.

Thanks anyway. I know I still have no clue and many more questions.

Well I said "I think i got it."
I noticed that in I.E. 6 the menu shifts right and sort of leaves a bracket to the left.
Here's a screenshot.

Am I doing this wrong? If it helps I can post the page source.

Thanks.

I figured it out! It took all night since I have no clue what I'm doing. I managed to replace the div tags with span tags when I was working around a way to get an image in the header. I went back and forth with that so many times I must of edited the wrong line at one point.

Glad I caught it before someone else had to go through the trouble of fixing my mess up. I'll probably have another one to bug y'all about sooner or later.

Thanks all the same.
