Default Computer Hardware

What would be a good site where I could learn about computer hardware and stuff like that? I only know the gritty basics and would like to learn more.

Just about anything, as long as it starts from the beginning. So something that would say X does Y and elaborates on it, Z does W, etc.

A real example would be like what exactly a processor does and so on.

I just want to learn this stuff for background purposes only so far. I don't plan on building/modding a computer anytime soon

It seems as though computer architecture is what you're looking for, though I don't know of any references, I'm afraid.

haha, I doubt that would work, especially if Trinithis has only one computer.

There's an old but good book I picked up recently at a second-hand book sale called "Computing" by Nick Waites and Geoffrey Knott.

I think I'm fine for now, as I had rented up a simple computer science book a while ago, and it explained a decent amount of hardware stuff. Thanks for all the replies.
