You want logins? passwords? all this to be secure?

Well... start looking at php.net.

I don't know of any that are available and they'll vary by what you need.
There may be some around if you google it, though.

Cheers. I mean like where someone can signup and log into pages that you protect. I've tried various ones from HotScripts but I can never get them to work. It's probably just me

It depends how you want to do it.

Not sure where you can just download a script, but you could try writing one yourself...

Easiest way is just to use HTTP authentication with something like a .htaccess file. There's a tool on DD to simplify the task.
