Extract it and run the installation script, in something like scripts/install.php (probably wrong). It'll guide you through the setup.

Nope. Not unless you're trying to integrate it into some sort of CMS. Even then you'd be better off just restyling the forum to match.

Does your host support php?
If no, don't try to host a forum... not gonna happen.
If yes, it should definitely work. Read the instructions carefully.
