Default Hint in a banner exceeding border; How?

    Purpose:

...I am setting up a free Internet Hotspot at a local recreational area. I am using a captive portal controlled by ChilliSpot. When the user logs on, I want to display an unobtrusive banner that displays links to local places of interest with the "hint" or "tooltip" extending over the page. The banner will have small icons and the tooltip or hint will expalin the icon or contain an image.

    How can I do this?

I'm not really clear on what you are asking but the simplest tool tip is the title attribute. It cannot contain images though but, since it is a part of HTML and uses the browser's internal coding to absolutely position itself in the window as opposed to the page, it will appear on top whether it fits in an iframe/frame/the window itself, or not. If your banner is a regular HTML element other than a frame, iframe or pop up, you can use one of the DD Cool DHTML tool tip scripts.
