Perhaps not the answer you are looking for but, I would tell you that you would be as well off finding a menu that already does this, better in fact. The css chrome menu is as difficult to work with in complex layouts as a multilevel menu but doesn't have that capability, to code it in would be a major project. If you like the look of the chrome, that can be incorporated into just about any menu. If you like the css nature and search engine friendly aspect, there already are other menus like that as well that do multilevels.

I would like to do use the chrome menu,

but I will drop the idea of multi level menus.

your response saved my lot of time.

i would not try Chrome multi-level for current project.
