AJAX XML Ticker Not Working in Safari

I've got the AJAX XML ticker set up on a private forum - it works beautifully for Firefox, IE6 and Opera on the PC. However, I have one Mac/Safari-using member and she tells me that the ticker shows "Initializing Ticker" and that is it. It never does anything else. I have no access to a Mac or Safari so I cannot troubleshoot.

Can anybody give me some advice on getting this script to function in Safari or point me to another similar script that is known to work in Safari? Thanks!

No clue, really.
but I do have safari. Link me to it if you want me to test versions or something.
