Linking To Sound File

I have a link to a sound file (not htm page) that opens up in QuickTime. However, it opens up on a white background which is not what I want.
Is the white background Quicktimes default, if so I suppose I cant do anything with it!
Will Windows Media Player and others open up in their own window etc etc??
