    Try DD's AJAX Includes script.

This is the problem i want to put the leftcontent.html which is in the root dir in the html file thats is in the root dir folder that has a sub dir. it shows the leftcontent.html and the style of the leftcontent.html but it doesnt show the images and flash files which is in the root dir folder named images. should i be confined in the same dir? can anyone help me? thanks again.

No, but you have to specify the image paths as if they were in the index page.

You'd do a lot better to use server-side scripting.

The search engine won't see the AJAXed content, no, at least based on founded information.

    See http://www.php.net/ or http://www.w3schools.com/php/.
