Amazon.com cool popup menu

I'm trying to figure out how to make those cool popup menu's like the ones that are on the amazon.com homepage...Go to
www.amazon.com

At the very top of the page roll your mouse over the tab that says "See all 32 product categories".

See how that menu expands and then there are links in it...

How is this done...I don't really care about the animated effect of when it opens...Basically I just want the onrollover to open an html table about 400px by 400px (for the menu) and be able to place anything I want in the table, such as links, or images etc...in a manner that I see fit.

I think that they probably use some javascript but if it is more on the lines of a css thing just let me know and I'll move this post over to that category.
