    Default I want to make my link banners marquee up

    Hi

    I'm looking to make my link banners marquee up with an onMouseover Effect. Like one that is dull then mouseover the link box and it goes to it's color.

    Please point me in the direction for this script, I looked and see both the marquee and mouseover but not both together.

    Thanks in advanced...

    Hi there...

    Do you mean you want your links to move up (^) when you hover over them,
    aswell as change color?

    If so, I could probably give you some code for this...

    Yes that is what I would like it to do, I have some banners that I want to marquee up with like a grey scale effect or so on...etc..etc.. Then when they hover over I would like them to look normal.

    If you need a demo, I can show you this website that has what I'm looking for.

    Thanks for your help

    O.K...

    So the banners are marqueeing up the page; once the mouse goes over them
    they continue moving but change from faint greyscale to a sharp color image,
    right?

    If this is what you wan't I will gladly customize some code for you...

    Yes, that would be nice, and it would help me get a clear idea of what you
    are looking to do. (it will also be easier to make the code for you o_O )

    Great Thanks.

    The website URL for the demo is http://www.extremetexasmetal.com/etm/news.php You will see on the right hand side it says Advertisement and under that it has all of the different banners scrolling up with a mouseover effect. I use HTML on my website but have a phpbb forum, I know this is a PHP script. I can use either so whatever you find best.

    Thanks

    I there. This code be made with the code here on DD.

    So here's how to do it!

    ########################################

    add this to the head of your document:

    Code:
    <style type="text/css">

    .gradualshine{
    filter:alpha(opacity=30);
    -moz-opacity:0.3;
    }

    </style>

    <script type="text/javascript">

    /***********************************************
    * Gradual Highlight image script- &#169; Dynamic Drive DHTML code library (www.dynamicdrive.com)
    * This notice MUST stay intact for legal use
    * Visit Dynamic Drive at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ for full source code
    ***********************************************/

    var baseopacity=30

    function slowhigh(which2){
    imgobj=which2
    browserdetect=which2.filters? "ie" : typeof which2.style.MozOpacity=="string"? "mozilla" : ""
    instantset(baseopacity)
    highlighting=setInterval("gradualfade(imgobj)",50)
    }

    function slowlow(which2){
    cleartimer()
    instantset(baseopacity)
    }

    function instantset(degree){
    if (browserdetect=="mozilla")
    imgobj.style.MozOpacity=degree/100
    else if (browserdetect=="ie")
    imgobj.filters.alpha.opacity=degree
    }

    function cleartimer(){
    if (window.highlighting) clearInterval(highlighting)
    }

    function gradualfade(cur2){
    if (browserdetect=="mozilla" && cur2.style.MozOpacity<1)
    cur2.style.MozOpacity=Math.min(parseFloat(cur2.style.MozOpacity)+0.1, 0.99)
    else if (browserdetect=="ie" && cur2.filters.alpha.opacity<100)
    cur2.filters.alpha.opacity+=10
    else if (window.highlighting)
    clearInterval(highlighting)
    }

    </script>
    Then place this were you want the ad:

    Code:
    <MARQUEE DIRECTION="UP"><img src=""></MARQUEE>
    Then, insert the below inside the <img> tag of all of the images you want the effect applied to:

    Code:
    class="gradualshine" onMouseover="slowhigh(this)" onMouseout="slowlow(this)"
    example: <img src="" class="gradualshine" onMouseover="slowhigh(this)" onMouseout="slowlow(this)">

    This should give that same effect!

    But of course they used a black background with transparent .gif's.

    Thanks alot, I'm just getting time to work on it now. I will shout back if there is any problems.

    Ok I have it all set up, I have one question. Where do I keep adding the images in the code so they will be back to back. This is the code I have set up with just one logo inside it.

    Code:
    <MARQUEE DIRECTION="UP"><img src="
    http://www.bayouunderground.com/images/realmsofmetal.jpg"class="gradualshine" onMouseover="slowhigh(this)" onMouseout="slowlow(this)"></MARQUEE>
    Just keep repeating the same code with each image URL?

    Thanks again
