Default Ultimate Slide Show Breaks Without Style

    Ultimate Fade-In Slide Show, http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...nslideshow.htm

    Hi there,

I have been using this slide show on some test pages and as I tried the pages with styles disabled, the slideshow started behaving very oddly.

It separates into two rows (two pictures showing one on top of the other), and when the pictures change the page jumps so that if you're trying to read further down the page you have to keep scrolling back down but the page jumps back up by the time you get to where you were!

I have made a very basic test page so you can see whether I have made any mistakes with the code: http://seis.bris.ac.uk/~chclb/test.html

Help much appreciated as we're thinking of going live with those pages soon!

    Thanks

    cl

The script is dependent upon the style. You could do something to test for style being active for the user and disabling the script altogether if style is inactive. This is unlikely though. There are very few users who surf the web with javascript enabled and css style disabled. Those who do are almost certainly quite used to seeing some very odd effects on very many web pages.
