Safari problems with image slideshows
Just thought I'd point out to everyone that the page for the 'Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v1.5)' says that "The cool fading effect works in...Safari 2..."
It doesn't - there's no fade effect in Safari 2.0.3.
Also, the 'Carousel Slideshow II' shows nothing in Safari: the page is blank where the slideshows are supposed to be.

For Ufade see:

Particularly post#8 and post#10.
Carousel Slideshow II is not rated for Safari.

thanks..
Well I copied the updated version of the script that was in reply number 8 at this thread and great - it now works in Safari too!
AND it works in FireFox Win/Mac!
But this update isn't the latest version... Erm.. why not? Am I missing something here? What's 'Ufade'?

Ufade is short for Ultimate Fade-in Slideshow. I'm not sure about the lateset version, I made that version as soon as it became appaent to me that the vesion by DD didn't work in Safari. I think I included all the basic functionality of the script as it is currently here on DD. Any date in the code may be misleading.

Well your alteration should be included in the latest version, it seems to me, since it makes it work on more browsers
I guess I needn't worry about the stuff about "crossobj.style.opacity"?

I've been after DD to upgrade but, I only post here. About the stuff about "crossobj.style.opacity", as I said in my response to Henkie, that would only come into play if one were to alter the script to use an initial opacity of 0 (zero). That type of alteration would be beyond the normal configuration options so, if anyone were to choose to do so, edit the code for an initial opacity of 0, then Henkie's comments would be illuminating. They would also apply to all other opacity type tests in the script except for those for IE. Since zero opacity is not called for in normal use of the script, unless you are really 'getting under the hood' you can ignore the entire matter.
