Missing "!"

Folks,

First 41 lines of code below, unfortunately unnumbered. I invite your attention to the "document.write" line, about 12 lines up from the bottom, and to the "Irreverent Lawyers" line, one line up from the bottom.

I'm attempting now to just display an exclamation point. (That exclamation point is just a place holder for a function when I get past the present problem.) The exclamation point is not displaying anywhere on the page. I'm expecting it to immediately precede "Irreverent" in the page heading. The page in question is https://www.marainlaw.com/page.php?here=quotations.

Can y'all help?

...cannot possibly work.

It needs to be, at least, like this...

...or, if you want to include the br element, like this...

Hi there marain,

There is no need to be embarrassed, I am fast approaching 80 years
of age and brain farts are an almost daily occurrence for me.

Yesterday by clicking the wrong button I totally destroyed my main OS.
