How can I convert docx files to PDF format .Please give applications in both Linux and Windows platform.

I use online service: document.online-convert.com/convert/doc-to-pdf. If you use LibreOffice, when you saving document choose "Save As - pdf" in popup menu.

It's also worth noting that most major word processors support the docx -> pdf functionality.

Microsoft Word operates with docx files by default, and it supports exporting to PDFs. Not supported on Linux easily.
Libre Office can parse docx files (sometimes with small errors) and supports exporting to PDFs. Available for Windows and Linux.
Google Docs can parse docx files and can export PDFs. Available on anything with a web browser.
