Yes of course you can. I would suggest you to install windows 7 as you do not like windows 8. Windows 10 is not that stable and has lots of bugs. So I would have suggested you to install windows 8 but as you do not like it then go for windows 7.

If you are going to install Windows OS (yes, you can do it), and choose the version, you might not have an official version of the system. Torrents have many versions of different OS, including 10, 8, and 7. I like the 10th one, although I would turn the updates off.

Welcome tonko! Just wanted to drop in here and address some of the advice and add my own opinion.

As of the 14th January 2020, support for Windows 7 has been discontinued. This means that support and updates are no longer available, which may lead to security or usability issues. I can't comment on whether Windows 10 would run without issue on that specific model of laptop. Windows tends to be backwards compatible, so it is likely that it will be fine. I would definitely backup your files before attempting to upgrade, so that you can restore if needed. Always do a backup before upgrading/changing operating system! Regardless of whether you're worried about hardware support.


In terms of stability issues with Windows 10, I have not personally seen issues with the operating system in the field. While there were some issues when it was initially released in 2015, it has come a long way since then. I would suggest that the OS is very stable now (and for some time).


Also, as a side note, I cannot advocate torrenting operating systems (from a legal perspective, or from a security perspective). Using torrented software always has risks, but these issues can have greater impact when it affects the operating system as a whole. If you have any legitimate copy of Windows, I believe you should still be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free (but you'll have to check this!).
