Default How do I make the content editable by 'non-designers'?

A friend of mine has asked if I would design a site for him, with certain sections that he could edit himself without having to use the software that I use (Dreamweaver MX)???
The sections in question would be 'news' items that he could update daily, weekly, monthly etc..
I'm hoping that I have posted this in the right forum....forgive me if this is not the case......hyphen8

:/ The easiest way would be to give him a password for your webhost account...
    Otherwise, it gets verry complicated.
