Touch Image Gallery - Compatibility View Issue

I am working on an intranet site, so it is not on the web but my employers network. I designed the site around the Touch Image Gallery, the link to the plugin is below. All testing looked good in all browsers but when i uploaded it and view it the button's do not work in IExplorer 11 but fine in Chrome and Firefox, it works when i view the files locally, the demo on DD and even when i open the index file directly from the folder of where the site is being stored. I got it to work by turning off Compatibility View but, we need to keep compatibility view on because of our web based database.

I am thinking there must be a way to get it to work because it works viewing the demo on DD at the very least. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I just tested the script out in IE Edge (not IE11), and it does act a little erratic in terms of swiping with the mouse. I've updated the swipe library used by the script (jquery.touchSwipe.min.js) to the latest version on the script page, which takes care of that issue.
