Painting should be about music. Kidding in a way. It's true content is what drives a successful site. That doesn't necessarily have to be words, though it usually is. Also often high on the list is functionality. Does it enable the user to accomplish a particular task which the site's intended to facilitate.

Design (graphic design, that is) has become a goal in itself. Your showcase-site should contain as many images as possible (because 'an image says more than a thousand words') and also as few text as possible. This leads people to think that your site should be some sort of picture book. This site has taken this false idea to the extreme.
