Auto-start is disabled by default in iOS to preserve mobile data packages. Nothing to do with the script I'm afraid.

No, you can't make audio or video start playing automatically on iOS because Apple have disabled that feature.
"To preserve mobile data packages" means that in blocking auto-start, devices won't download huge audio and video files that would otherwise eat in to mobile data packages. For example someone might buy 500MB of Internet data to use per month on their mobile plan (as a bolt-on, or pay-as-you-go), but if your audio files started to download and play automatically, the user's allowance would quickly be used up. That's not very considerate if they didn't want your audio to auto-play on their mobile. The measures that Apple have put in place mean that the user has to specifically start the file downloading/playing, so the choice of whether they want to use their mobile data package is theirs (not the website developers).
My mobile provider currently charges £3 for 50MB of data used abroad!!!!
