smoothmenu with columns?

Smooth Navigational Menu (v2.1)

I would like to use this script with a slight modification if possible.
Due to the nature of my menu system, I may have a sub choice of over 100 items.
Way to many items to show in one column.
Is it possible then to have two or more columns show?
If so, how?
