C++ need window source code

I'm writing a program, and i want it to to be ran in its own window, like most .exe programs, the thing is, i don't know where to start, i have only written programs that run in MS-DOS, and i want this one to run out of its own window. does this explain very well what i would like? i hope so, if not let me know and i will try to do better. so what would i do, to get this to happen?

This is a freeware compiler which, amongst other things, enables you to make .exe files. There are also links to sites which provide loads of source code in C/C++ Open GL etc. The compiler itself comes with examples and allows the import of VB C++ Its pretty good and best of all FREE!
