Default Navigation problem on touch screen devices

    Happy New Year to all...

Forgive me, I know there have been many similar questions asked and a lot of discussion on this topic. However I have searched high and low for hours without getting the answer I need. I've had to admit defeat and ask for a little help. I am relatively new to all this but I'll endeavour to provide all the required information...

I am using the Dynamic Drive "ddsmoothmenu" on my website www.stepaheadtravel.com and the navigation works fine in a desktop environment using a mouse. All menu items on all levels are clickable and appropriate pages can be accessed. When viewing my site on my iPhone however, I am unable to access the top level (parent) links. Clicking once on these top level links drops down the sub menu (child) links as expected but clicking again on the same link will not take me to that page as expected. It simply closes the drop down sub menu and I remain on the same page.

From the drop down menu on a touch screen, the sub menu links are accessible but only if there is no third level menu. When this is the case, the first click on a sub menu (child) link will open the third level menu and a second click will close it in the same manner as described above. In summary, I can only link to the lowest level menu items through each sub menu but I want to access all pages.

I hope all that makes sense. Below are links to the javascript and css files that I used to create the menu. If anyone can provide the changes or additional code that I require to get this working I'd be very appreciative! Thanks in advance!

    - Dave.

Hmm I'm not sure I understand- are you trying to get the top level menu links to open the sub menus when clicked on the first time as expected, but then if clicked on again, navigate to a specific URl instead? By design any menu item that contains sub menus such as the top menu links do not navigate to a URL when clicked on, but simply open/close their associated sub menu.

Thanks Beverley...you beat me to it. This issue has been resolved by removing the top level anchor links and placing them as the first link in the sub menu. Not a perfect solution but one that I'm happy with because it gives me consistency across computers, tablet and touch screen mobile devices. Thanks again for your help
