    Default email forwarding solution

Firstly I hope I am posting this in the correct place.

I purchased a domain and have set it up on my server (domain registrar & host are not the same company).

For a more professional look I want to display an email address as a domain (eg info@mydomain.com). But in reality I want emails forwarded to a broadband address (eg info@skybroadband.com).

I don't really want to set up a domain email account and would prefer the email address in the mailto: part of the html code as info@mydomain.com.

What is the best way to make this work please?

Hi, I hope everyone realises I wasn't trying to post email address on the forum and the ones I have used are examples to just explain myself better.

Does your web host provide an email service and forwarders?

If so, you should be able to setup a domain specific email account; "me@website.com" for your website at "www.website.com", and then setup a filter/forwarder to send copies to "fred@someotherplace.com"

All web hosts I've worked with have an email panel in their (paid) hosting account admin areas where you can setup new email accounts, filters and blacklists, etc. really easily. I would be quite surprised if you weren't provided with that facility.

Have a look in your control panel to make sure that you have email and SMTP enabled - not having an email option usually goes hand-in-hand with not have SMTP, which could very likely be the case on a free or very low cost hosting plan.
