Help with DD ScrollSpy (menu highlighting)

Hello,

First of all I'm new to coding,


I am making a help site which will be one long page with side bar for navigation. I want the users to know where they currently are on the page.
I'm struggling with setting up script DD ScrollSpy Menu Script which would allow to highlight menu items based on user position on the page. I use the tutorial from here:

Unfortunately the highlighting doesn't work. I checked million times but I can't find my mistake.

I am working on the sidemenu : id="verticalspymenu" (there is also top menu, but it doesn't need highlighting")


Could you please check my codes? Maybe there is a better way for highlighting the menu?
