Help needed!

Ok i know iframes and href links etc etc but what should i do to create a drop down text? The whole idea is a news page with headlines and pics but when the user clicks on the Read more link under a headline then I want the whole article to drop down leaving the other (next and previous) headlines intact! Oh and there must be a close content link at the bottom of the article so that things wont be too messy if someone wants to read more than one article!!! How's that possible Maybe css or ajax?
