He looks like the one off my Christmas tree - minus the glitter. He's very striking against the white. Have you had much snow where you are John?

We've not had any (non that's settled) where I am - in the middle of the UK. It's quite toasty for this time of year in fact

You may or may not believe how many shots I had to take to get one like that. Even so, I had to filter the bird and adjust the brightness/contrast for the entire image to get it to look more like it does to the human eye. Cameras tent to wash everything else out if there's something bright white like snow reflecting the sun in the image.

There has been a fair amount of snow. Not as much at any given time as we can have. Compared to recent winters though, this has been a lot. And with temperatures mostly below freezing, there has been a fairly consistent snow cover. That's quite unusual for us, even when we get huge storms. I like it. It's much nicer than all the bare trees, brown grass and shrubs.

We had an ice storm last Wed, knocked out a lot of folks' power around here. Some are just getting it back today. Mine was only out for 4 hours.

Nice photo, John. We get some beautiful birds here too but I rarely can get camera in time. I did get some shots when I set up new bird feers, the Google went and Giffed them. Is there a script to slow down animated GIFs ?

I don't think so. You can re-save the animated gif in any program capable of that while first lengthening the amount of time one or more frames is seen.

    Hello everyone,

It seems that this bird has come from a fairytale. It looks awesome.
