Beginners question - Quicklink?

I am just getting started with a rewrite of the basic VBB navbar.

Do people recommend using Quicklink for this? I need to mirror the current functionality of the VBB navbar and then add a few more popup menus.

When I open a new html file with Quicklink and save it, I automatically get a security warning in browser when opening the file. I do not want my users to get any warning. Can someone tell me what is the active content that I can remove to get this to render without prompting the user?

Hmmm I'm not familiar with QuickLink. A link to the script/product in question might help us all.
