Question Downward scripts for Oriental languages

Hello there, this is my first post.
I'm building a multilingual site; most of it's in Japanese; there's some Chinese as well.
As some of you may know, these languages can be written and read from top to bottom; but is there a way of doing this on a website without resorting to something like Macromedia?
    Cheers,
    Jack.

You could try coding it into really skinny table columns.

Yes indeed - otherwise I think it's simonf who's our WEFT guru - wait for him to get here and we'll get a link to the Microsoft way of doing this.

    *waits*

Seems like a double post, as we all responded to this in

html/Downward scripts for Oriental languages forum

What you can do is embed the font into the pages etc. Microsoft have a tool called Weft on url: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/WEFT.mspx that can assist you.
