    Default Fixed position

I have been trying to set up a page with a background image in fixed position so i can scroll up and down and it will remain central. This is perfectly simple to do if you just want an easy life and select the URL to "blah".jpg or something. What i have been trying to do is put the background image as a javascripted filtered image which resides on the same page. Can anyone suggest something or should i be on the JAVASCRIPT forum. Any comments would be appreicated, even if to say its not possible.

    Regards

Hmmm by javascript filtered image, do you mean applying filtering such as opacity to the background image before making it static? This isn't possible, though CSS does support a few "filter" effects of its own, such as the opacity effect mentioned. Here's an example: http://www.cssdrive.com/index.php/ex...image_opacity/ , though what you're asking is to apply the effect to the background image- not sure it's possible.
