Thumbs up Conveyor Belt Slideshow script...

    Hello everybody..
i was ready to using the Conveyor Belt slideshow (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...rightslide.htm) from this website, as i did many times in the past with great success.. but this time, i'd like to put more than one on one page...
and it seems that the script just recognize one of them...
Any ideas to make it work twice or 3 times on the same page??

thank you for the help.. .

It's true. That script is a one per page script. Here's an OO version (multiple use per page):

    http://home.comcast.net/~jscheuer1/s...onveyor_oo.htm

Use your browser's "View Source" to get the code.

There is also this script (Text and Image Crawler):

    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...wler/index.htm

That can be set up for multiple conveyor like features on a page.

    The two main differences are:

    • The first script is just something from my personal archives, based mostly on the original and coded in an older style, and not likely to be maintained if it breaks in newer browsers. The second script is more modern, more likely to play well with newer browsers, and will likely be maintained if it doesn't.

    • The first script requires that the content (images and/or links) be listed in arrays. The second uses ordinary HTML from the page, which is better for SEO.

The second is also more versatile. It can do more things. But that's not much of an issue here. It can go slower though if needed, which could be important -

Scripts like these have generally stopped being used so much because they employ constant incremental javascript animation. This is one of the most taxing things javascript can put a browser through. They've been more or less replaced by sliders and carousels which move images and/or other content in steps with pauses in between that give the browser timeouts between animations where it can rest. And when it does move, does so relatively quickly. As a result, movement, when it does occur is more likely to appear smooth. One example is DD's Step Carousel:

If you do go with a script that does constant movement though, slower is better. In that scenario slow movement is easier for the browser to handle.

Almost needless to say, the more of these things you have on one page, the more taxing it is for the browser.
