    Default viewing php pages

    hi
    is there a way i can view a php page on my computer without uploading it to a remote server? also, if i can view the pages, would scripts be able to access local files?

    check out "WAMP" short for (something like) Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP - url is: http://www.en.wampserver.com/ - run the software, open it in the taskbar/status bar (by the clock on your windows box), and save your PHP pages in it's project directory

    Yes, as specified above, you'll want to install a local webserver - I don't recommend what seems to be a third-party conglomeration of programs. Install them seperately (this is good for other platforms as well): Apache HTTPD, PHP, MySQL (only necessary if you use it).
