Are you looking for something like thishttp://www.web-user.info/rss/demo.htm

if so,I will post the stuff soon

john worked out the script I posted. If he does not come around to put up the thread, then I will come back and post the page.It uses the same files as what you already are using but if you source my page you may be able to get it working. You can change the css styles to suit yourself also

Yes, except I need it to scroll vertically not horizontally and it needs to be able to read the .txt file in the original script.

    Thanks!

That might work if it could read the .txt file like the original script can, it doesn't look like it can in it's current state.

    Thanks!

It reads from an RSS file though. Is there any reason why you couldn't migrate your data to the XML format? It's not any more complex than the way the txt file for the script in your original post is formatted.

Here's some info on how to format an RSS file: http://www.mnot.net/rss/tutorial/

I will have to research that a bit - good information thx! The main problem I can see with that is I have a program that generates the .txt file based on certain conditions, and I am limited as to what coding I can have the program itself generate along with the messages to be displayed.

Like I said in the first post, I have the original script working I would just like to have it constantly vertical scroll the messages instead of fading between them.

    Thanks!

Are the program scripts open source? You might be able to edit it so it generates the entries as xml/rss tags instead of divs?
