    Well, apparently, experts on the Mayans say that we've really misconstrued (with great help from the media I'll bet) the whole 2012 thing.

    I don't get how humans can believe that the Earth will end just because some old Mayan ran out of stone...
    We're so supersticious...

    Interestingly, it ends at the end of a century and on Winter Solstice, as logical a stopping point as any. (I also like the "ran out of room on the stone" idea, though.)
