    Default Menu items display the hover state before they're hovered

    Hi Guys-

    On a website I work on for a friend, on the mp3 download page with php code integrated in it, all the items on the menu bar display the hover state before they're hovered. If you actually hover over the menu items once, then they display normally. If however you re-load the page, once again they all display the hover state. Of course, it may be something other than the php causing the conflict, but will you guys please see if it is?

    Thanks,

    Kenny

    Unfortunately, we cant do anything to test your php code because what we can see is only the html which it serves us, and even then, we dont know which parts are being generated by the php and what is in the page already.

    When I troubleshoot this kind of thing, I approach it in 2 ways;

    1 - Start with a shell of a page that you know works (take one of the other working pages as a base), and then gradually add back html, css, js and php, etc - one script or batches of a few lines at a time - and test between each inclusion until you find the thing that breaks the functionality.

    2 - (The reverse) Start with your broken page and removed chunks of html, css, js and php, etc until it start to work again.

    Either way, you'll be able to pinpoint the glitchy addition/elements and target the issue more precisely.

    I tried removing every single item in the header and footer, including all the necessary items required for the paypal payment process to work, but none of them made the menu images stop displaying the hover state. Is it possible that the problem is being caused by the process of the header being called to display from the separate file that its in?
    In all other pages of this website, the header, body and footer are integrated on one page and they work perfectly.

    In any case, because I don't have the ability to solve this issue, I would be more than glad to send you the login info and pay your fee if you would please fix it for me.

    Ok - I must warn you though that I have the day booked off to do some Xmas shopping, but if you're happy to wait until tomorrow, send me a PM or contact me via my Focus on Function website (see signature link below) and we can take it from there.

    Shopping done, presents sorted, Christmas baubles replaced (damn cat!), and "Rhythm 'n' Boots" website menu fixed!

    What a productive day
