Over here in the U.S. when growing up Doctor Who was something I always looked forward to. It only aired very late at night on Friday and could go on till 1am. It was the one day of the week I was allowed to stay up late and eat as much candy as I wanted! Friday night Doctor Who night was a big affair for my family. It was a very rare thing when I found someone else who had also heard of the show.

My favorite incarnation of the Doctor was #7 Sylvester McCoy. He was a very dark doctor or at least he dealt with some dark issues. His companion, Ace, was more like a daughter than the others and it was good to see the doctor as a father figure. There was also a version of the future version of the doctor that incarnation #6 met that was pure evil (incarnation number 13 or 14). He was interesting and rather scary. The evil Doctor considered the Master second rate!.

Ok, I'm done rambling for a bit .

EDIT: Hah! Thanks for that link Keyboard1333!
Even more diverting from the thread, over here it airs on Sunday morning at 5:30AM (on abc iview, they air it a week late anyway, but they didn't have iview until this year, so people would just pirate the episodes, so they put it on iview right after it airs in England) keyboard and I got up at 5:00AM to watch it

Ahh yes, I remember Ace, didn't she have those exploding deodorant cans, I have to say though, she definitely seemed to be the stereotypical rock and roll teenager.

Sylvester McCoy was the first Dr that I really remember - Ace too but only because Sophie Lawrence (the girl who played her) was a children's TV presenter before she got the part.

My fave Dr Who girl is Donna

I can't believe you 2 got up at 5am to watch it - that's dedication for you.
Are you looking forward to next week? The crying angels are back - that's me not sleeping for a week (again!)

I don't even know why we get up at 5:00 really, but next week it's the weeping angels in New York (they have babies !(cherubs))

I just noticed, we've successfully reached 10 pages on the thread by constantly diverting from the topic.

Just a token mention of 'avatar' every now and again should be enough to keep us both from being shoe'd off the forum - ha, ha

I bet you and Keebs Skype each other when DW is on so you can 'watch it together'!

    Because Skype is too mainstream

And thusly, we see dr. Who cause yet another paradox.

Actually on topic for once, I'm thinking of changing my avatar, what should it be?
