making a field read only after running process

i want to make a field read only after running a process.

ex- when i want to see the 101 numbers record then after running that process when it shows the records then another user can't change that number like 102.
i.e that field will be automatically read only after running that process.

This is a little confusing, but I get what you're trying to do is call a function and then make the text readonly. Here is an example of what I think you're trying to do:

for(i=1;i<2;i++;){
document.getElementById("text").value = i;
}
document.getElementById("text").disabled = true ;

Anyway you get the idea.
