3) Describe problem: Does not show galleries in PHP5.3

I recently changed hosts and image galleries that were working on the old host failed to show on the new one.
The new hosts tracked it down to the php not working in 5.3. Once they degraded the site to 5.2 the galleries showed again.

Would anyone have a fix to make it work with 5.3 please?
