    Default HTML5 background audio player

What's wrong with a flash audio player?
    Everybody has flash.
Word press makes a simple player that will take up little space and is easy to configure.
It plays mp3's directly and uses the tags to display information.

    Two significant reasons:

    1. No, not everyone has Flash. Most people do, but some still don't have it. It's optional. It's the most compatible solution at the moment, but it's not ubiquitous.
The single biggest example of a problem with it is the iPhone and iPad. They don't do Flash and never will. Some other limited devices are the same.

    2. HTML5 is more generally compatible, at least in theory. It's not fully supported yet. But it's moving in that direction. It allows the browser to decide how to play it, and this really is the next step. So it's planning for the future. Flash will be outdated in 10 years. At the moment, it's a little early, true.
