F8 doesn't put computer to safe mode
since my computer requires a password, does that mean i cant use f8 to put the computer to safe mode? it doesnt work.
the password is for the O.S. (operating system) or the BIOS (board),
Not all computers use F8 for safe mode, look at the brand of your board and consultation in the manufacturer's www page
I would do 2 things here. If you have a BIOS password set then:
- Open the computer and remove the CMOS battery for a few mins and place back in. This removes the BIOS password
If you have a windows password set, then:
- Use a boot disk (like Hirens boot disc) and use a windows password remover tool from DOS which removes the password for you.
Let me know if it works!!
you're right but that's why I wanted to know what the password to give him the appropriate solution,
I tried all the options other guys suggested, none of them worked. So I went into the BIOS setup, (press the Del key when the logo appears at bootup) and under Peripherals, Onboard Device, USB keyboard support, and changed it from Disable to Enable. It then worked. This is of course presuming you have a USB keyboard.
