Rather than celebrating my 10,000th post as an accomplishment, I wanted to post thanking everyone here for everything I've learned during the past 6 years as a member (and now moderator) on the board.
For me, hands on learning is the best way to improve my programming skills, and I'm now a reasonably proficient web designer. When I first joined, I knew just the basics and I can attribute at least 90% of what I've learned since to time spent here (at least indirectly).
Although part of my intent is to help others, one of main goals in keeping up with posts here (and helping others) is to keep challenging myself with changes in web design and trying to find answers to the hard problems. It's actually by answering questions here (and posting a few of my own) that I have learned the most.
So thanks for asking the interesting questions and to everyone who has contributed to the discussions!
Of course I have been more busy with other things recently (grad school does manage to eat away at your time eventually), but I'm still around when I have the time and in fact that's perhaps the biggest benefit of this forum-- when I don't have time to actively work on other web design projects, it's still a way that I can see and think about a bit of code each day so I don't forget everything![]()
