Here's one way, using .gif images with transparent sections:

One can also use css 3's border-radius property supported in all browsers' current versions. Only problem is that with IE, that means IE 9 or higher, none of the other IE browsers support it, which leaves out IE 8 - the highest version supported in the still popular Windows XP platform.

thank you very much John for that tabs, I'm already know that IE is problem with almost any new script. so I'll use it with firefox and safari safe as I suppose they'll work without problems like IE does, anyway I'll test them and replay with my test results hope it'll work without problems

The script I linked to - it's not really a script, it's css style and works with IE and others. The css 3 border-radius property, which was another idea, works in virtually all browsers* except IE 8 and less.

*some older versions of Safari, Firefox, perhaps others require vendor specific versions of the border-radius property. But current versions of all browsers that do css support it.

well John I have question how does css hold content inside tabs?
cause when I tried it the css code show up as tab menu not as tab holder. and the content of each link bleed out the list as one page not separated pages with the tab links, also I've tried this without successful results:
    http://blixt.org/articles/tabbed-navigation-using-css
again the tabs working as menu not as tab holding content sorry if I miss this part at my first request.
