CSS Menu in MasterPage

I need some help with my CSS menus. I turned a tempate into a masterpage on aspx. I'm using VB codebehind. Whenever I leave the homepage http://www.it-techconsulting.com my CSS second level menu disappears. It has something to do with me using VB to change the page indicator caret in the menu. I will head any advice or follow any lead. I really need help with this as time is running short. I have the codebehind code for any helpers.

I am trying to programatically insert

class="active"

but it makes my second level menu disappear.
The code moves the blue caret to the proper page but on any page but the home page the second level menu and graphic "Down Arrow" disappears

I have the pages on my ftp if some would be so kind as to help me.
