Default Lightbox not working on Mac/Safari

    1) Script Title: Lightbox image viewer 2.03a

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...box2/index.htm

    3) Describe problem: I have implemented the lightbox script on a few websites and all is well, until now, I see the light box does not display on a mac with Safari browser. Instead of opening up the lightbox, it just opens each image individually with no option to click through to the next image.

Is this a mac related issue? Any help is appreciated!

PS: Script works fine on Firefox and IE

I don't have a Mac to test on. But I do have Safari and the demo page for the script does work in it. How old of a Mac are you using? What version of Safari is it running?

I do have a mac but not with me at the moment. I can check this later if necessary. Most of the time mac and pc versions of safari are similar, though I believe there are occasionally some differences.

    Hey guys

Thanx for the replies, I downloaded a copy of Safari 5.1 (running Win 7 myself) and have managed to replicate the same problem as what is happening on the Macbook Pro - it's a fairly new one, maybe 6 months old.

To reiterate, the issue is when clicking the image, it brings up the first image in the lightbox in, but in a new screen, with no next buttons.

I'm running 5.1 under Win 7 as well and the demo page on Dynamic Drive:

    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...nslideshow.htm

works just fine in it. Does it for you in your Safari 5.1/Win 7? If so and you want more help:

Please post a link to a page on your site that contains the problematic code so we can check it out.

If not, then it might be a setting in your copy of Safari, or something about your Win 7 setup or its anti-virus/malware programs. Even search engine toolbars can do stuff like this sometimes. So it could be any third party addon.

But, as I say, if the demo page on Dynamic Drive works in Safari for you, it's the implementation. If you don't have it live yet, put up a demo somewhere that demonstrates the issue and post a link to to it here. If it is live, just post the link here.

    Hi John,

Thanx for the response, the script in question is located here:

    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...box2/index.htm

And this implementation does the same thing, if you click the image with the horses it just brings up the horse in a new screen, instead of inside a lightbox.

So clearly it's not just a problem with my implementation here: http://www.dpd.co.za/gallery.html

    Any ideas guys?

Sorry, my mistake. I thought it was a different script. However, what I said holds true.

The demo page for Lightbox 2.03a works fine in Safari if you let the page fully load before clicking on the triggers. This is an issue in all browsers though, update to the latest version (2.05 at the moment) to overcome that:

    http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/

The link to your page doesn't work in any browser. It doesn't have the lightbox scripts associated with it. Did you download the Lightbox V2.03a file from the demo page?
