Please help with SWF files

Hello,

I have no experience in flash and I am trying to edit text in flash file which is saved as .swf. Can I make the changes in swf files? If not, than I can I do that?

No, you can not edit .swf files. swf is the published version of the movie. You will need to open the .fla to make any changes.

If you do not have the .fla file then you are pretty much screwed. There are programs avaliable that will basically turn an swf into an fla, but they are expensive (and some illegal ) You can try google for hopefully a trial of one such program (I use SWFDecompiler ).

If you do have the fla file you will need to open the movie in Flash, go to the layer and frame of the text, use the selection tool and double click the text. It will then open the text field, make your needed adjustments then go back to the main scene, save and publish again.

You could also join a great flash community and someone there may be able to decomplie your swf for you (provided it IS yours) I dont have the time right now, sorry. Check out FlashKit Forum they are really good people there.

Go to http://www.swishzone.com/index.php?area=products. Download a trial version of sWixhMAX. Import your .swf file an edit.
