Too many category links?

This website has numerous category links spread across the top and left side of the screen. This allows the searcher to find products more easily through categories.

Will reducing the number of internal links on the homepage help visitors use the categories more effectively? Possibly enlarging the categories

I have removed the hyperlink from your post because this forum receives a lot of spam, but if this is a real question (and I'm assuming it is) then anyone who wants to help can visit the URL by copying and pasting.

My opinion is that the page is excessively busy. Eliminate some things since this is the home page. For the product pages or catalog pages that would be fine, but for the first moment that a visitor comes to your site you don't want them to be lost.
