status variables not working

3) Describe problem:

My carousel is working fine, except that my variable (StatusA - current slide) isn't being updated, it only returns "1". The onslide event seems to work as expected since the function defined here is executed.

What reasons can this have? Can it be a conflict with other scripts used on the site?
