    Default animated items without flash

    Hello, quick question.

Is there a way to animate movements for items on a webpage without flash. for instance, I want the menus to kind of slide in when the page is loaded. Is this possible?

Quick answer, Yes. Use javascript assisted DHTML effects. There are tons of public domain, freeware and creditware scripts available on the web that will do this sort of thing. The trick is finding one that is close to what you are looking for and adapting (configuring) it to your exact purposes. Dynamic Drive's main site is a huge library of creditware scripts, free to use if the credit remains on the script in the source code of your page. Take a look at:

    Slide-In Links

    and:

    Dynamic-FX Slide-In Menu (v 6.5)

Just to name two from DD that are perhaps close to what you are talking about. A good approach would be to devise a search string that describes what you are looking for and input it into Google along with the word javascript.
