different background when in 'current' tab

hi.
i'm using this menu on the right sidebar of this page.
i want to add different background color to sub-menu's tabs when in 'current' page. i want it to have the same background it has when mouse-overing it...

is there a way to do that ? it's very important because it's hard to follow where you at when going around the site...

i solved it for the submenus.
but there's stiil a problem with the regular titles: .glossymenu .menuitem{
how can i make those highlighted when i current page ?

i'm sure it's something that is included in the code but i can't find how to do that...
