Want to create advent calendar with coding

Hi, this is my first post so hopefully I am in the right place. I would like to create an advent calendar for the pc, I have seen others where a message comes up if people try and look at days in advance. I have very little programming and script knowledge so I am hoping that with help from you I can create my calendar.
So could it be explained to me, in very basic terms, what and where I can get the script and where I need to put in my html code that will enable the above to happen.
